Our Team

Diane Bowman, Founder & Trustee
I live in a quiet Suffolk village on the East Coast, married to my husband David. We have four rescue dogs from the UK and Romania. After seeing the conditions in which dogs in Romanian Shelters are kept and how little they are cared for, I felt compelled to try to change things for these dogs.

Scott Beaton, Trustee & Treasurer
I live in Scotland. My day job is with UK’s electricity transmission network. By night, I try to help dogs in Romania. It's hard to accept that in this day and age, animal suffering is acceptable in some countries and ignored in others. We can't change the world, but we can change it for these dogs.

Jade Elizabeth, Trustee
I’m family oriented, creative and a massive animal lover!. Since having my son, I've wanted to set a good example by helping charities and teaching him to be kind to all living things. Annie;s Trust is so important - I wanted to help the team make the lives of dogs in Romania more bearable. They all need a voice to speak up for them!

Helena Majkowski, Trustee
After learning about the plight of Romanian dogs via Annie's Facebook page, I was simply horrified and immediately asked "how can I help".
Annie's is the only UK charity to work so closley with a Romanian shelter and together, we can really make an impact. The dogs in the shelter and on the streets are no different to the dogs in our homes.

Julia Burns, Volunteer
(Cardiff, Wales)
Julia, from Cardiff, is one of our longest-serving volunteers, having started with fundraising activities in 2019 before transitioning to passport administration. Her experience and dedication have made her an invaluable part of our operations team, handling the crucial paperwork that helps get our rescued dogs to their forever homes. Julia's simple but heartfelt motivation - "I love dogs" - speaks to the pure compassion that drives our most committed volunteers.

John Loaring, Volunteer
(Cardiff, Wales)
John, also based in Cardiff, joined our passport administration team in 2024. Like his partner, Julia, he handles the essential paperwork that makes dog rescues possible. His personal connection to Annie's Trust deepened when he and his family adopted their own Romanian rescue dog "Sali", and watching her confidence grow has become his most treasured memory. John's hands-on experience as both a volunteer and adopter gives him unique insight into the full rescue journey.

Rowenna Tamblyn, Volunteer
(Minions, Cornwall)
Rowenna joined us in 2025 from the picturesque village of Minions in Cornwall. Despite describing herself as "not very tech savvy," she's found her perfect niche creating daily food fundraising posts for our social media. Even with a busy life, Rowenna believes that every small effort counts, and her consistent contributions help keep our supporters engaged and aware of the dogs' daily needs. Her genuine joy in watching rescued dogs transform into beloved family pets shines through in everything she does.

Jane Batty, Volunteer
(Surrey)
Jane has been a dedicated volunteer since 2023. She's the heart of our monthly auctions, working alongside her "sister in arms" Kate to raise vital funds for the dogs. Jane also helps coordinate Annie's Halfway House, supporting our sponsored dogs in foster care, and brings her warm, personal touch to our Annie's Trust Community Facebook page, helping supporters feel connected to our mission.

Kate Jordan, Volunteer
(Essex)
Kate became a volunteer in 2024 and brings both personal experience and diverse skills to our team. As Jane's "sister in arms," she co-runs our monthly auctions and organizes online fundraisers. Kate also manages our social media presence, sells donated items on eBay, and even creates handmade items for fundraising. Her connection to Annie's Trust runs deep - her family adopted Mia, a former Romanian street dog who was rescued after being hit by a car, making Kate's commitment both professional and deeply personal.

Sharon Thomson, Volunteer
(Inverness, Scotland)
Sharon joined us in 2024 and brings incredible passion and creativity to our fundraising efforts. She sources auction items, creates awareness videos, and helps amplify our message across social media. Sharon's emotional connection to the work runs deep - she's driven by the knowledge that over 500 dogs depend on Annie's Trust for survival. Her lifelong love of animals, dating back to childhood rescues, fuels her determination to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Amanda Sauer, Volunteer
(Falkirk, Scotland)
Amanda became a volunteer in 2024 and excels in our auction operations. She sources, donates, lists, and posts auction items, tags winning bidders, and amplifies our reach through social media sharing.
Amanda's systematic approach and keen interest in global animal welfare make her an invaluable part of our team. She takes pride in the collective effort to "keep those tummies fed" and believes strongly in Annie's Trust's ethical approach to rescue work.

Dod Fifer
(Fife, Scotland)
Dod joined our auction team in 2024 after being recruited by Jane from a previous project they'd worked on together. He's our reliable behind-the-scenes supporter, quietly contributing to auction preparations and fundraising efforts - he's already achieved impressive results, including raising £175 through an Amazon fundraiser.
